Weekend Warrior, October 18 – 20

For those of you who were smart enough not to head up to NYC this weekend for CMJ, I look forward to seeing you tonight at Johnny Brenda’s for The Lawsuits’ release celebration. The local four-piece has been garnering much praise from major music media outlets for their most recent album Cool Cool Cool, and this evening is a good opportunity to congratulate the lady and gents and hear how the new LP transfers to a live setting. Please take a look at our recent interview with The Lawsuits’ Brian Dale Allen Strouse below, and make sure to swing by JB’s where they’ll be joined by pop-rock trio The Fleeting Ends and buzzing high schoolers The Districts, who should probably have a sleepover party in the venue’s green room after the show since they’ll be back on stage tomorrow evening opening for the sold-out White Denim show. Expect tonight to be a love fest full of Philly folkies. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10, 21+ – H.M. Kauffman
