Tonight three bands gather at the Ortlieb’s stage for a free “real rock” event named after a song by the realest rockers out there, Nirvana. Featured is the distortion-driven hard rock band Village. The psychedelic trio stays true to their roots and influences with classic slow, fuzzy jams. After the release of their utter tease of a demo a few weeks ago, the band is proving how versatile they can be instrumentally. Joining Village will be Todd Fausnacht and the Well Whiskey Wind Whistlers, a band that is also true to their country blues genre. Adding in that final “rock” element, rounding out the set will be Seismic Thrust, a surfy, indie trio of childhood buddies playing a mix of catchy and experimental songs. All in all, this event is sure to please any kind of rock lover, and rest assured it will be “very ape”. Ortlieb’s, 847 N. 3rd St., 9pm, FREE, 21+– Maggie Grabmeier
