Twin Peaks have come back together to release “Freezing In Chicago“, the live recording of their 2017 New Year’s Eve performance at Thalia Hall.
Recorded on the final night of a sold-out New Year’s stand at Chicago’s historic Thalia Hall, this performance captures Twin Peaks at the peak of their Down In Heaven era powers. Fresh off two relentless years on the road behind Down In Heaven and the Sweet ’17 singles, the band arrives as a high-voltage ensemble: a full horn section, added percussion, and the unmistakable vocals of Finom (fka Ohmme) joining the fray. The thermometer plunged well below freezing in Pilsen that night; inside, the room burned bright as fans traveled from across the country to be part of the blowout. Balloons burst, confetti fell, and the band tore through a set that distilled their ragged charm and electric camaraderie. A genuine live document — raw, joyous, and alive in the way only Chicago rock & roll can be.
To celebrate their return Twin Peaks will be performing at Thalia Hall from May 14th to the 21st so everyone should have a chance to seethem together again.
