Tonight is one of the heaviest drinking evenings of the year. Since we already have “Black Friday” the day after Thanksgiving, I like to call today “Blackout Wednesday.” You probably already have plans to meet up with family and friends at a local bar and/or a relative/pal’s home. Well, if your crew likes to get rowdy to some tunes, then we have plenty of local acts ready to entertain you for the night. Grimace Federation’s Popular Science will be providing the hot electronic beats at Kung Fu Necktie. The dance party will also be doubling up as an EP release party for Beard-o-Bees (a.k.a. Jesse Miller from Lotus). If you are looking for a place where the alcohol flows like water and it won’t cost you anything to get your peeps in, then Ron Gallo’s Revue will be hopping at Fergie’s. It’s also Levee Drivers frontman August Lutz’s birthday so expect the man of honor to be ready to party and entertainment. Across the way, their pals TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb are at the North Star Bar for the Supersucker Thanksgiving Eve Party so they’ll most likely be joining the crew at Fergie’s for a little late night action, but I’m sure that those are Kong and company’s primetime hours for hanging. Garage-psych power trio St. James & The Apostles will be shutting down The Fire. And if you have no fear of getting a DUI or just aren’t that much of a drinker, then you can also make the trek to catch Hoots & Hellmouth at The Sellersville Theater. Wherever you end up, have fun and don’t get arrested! Cheers! – Q.D. Tran
