If one thing’s for sure, we at the Deli Magazine San Francisco can’t get enough of Quaaludes and The Younger Lovers. Quaaludes played our first Deli sponsored event of the season, so we were thrilled when we heard that The Younger Lovers, Quaaludes, Bad Daddies and Yi would be playing a show at the Hemlock Tavern tonight.
Yi is an Oakland based band that plays jagged-sounding punk. Recently, they released a track from their upcoming album, Crying called "Going Dumb." It has the perfect amount of fuzz and noise. Bad Daddies is an East Bay band that plays loud and fast punk. Expect a new 7-inch from the band on Negative Fun Records coming in June! And next is Quaaludes – this girl band plays a mixture of riot grrrl, no wave and grunge and are known for putting on a raucous show! And last but not least are The Younger Lovers, an Oakland based band that features Gravy Train!!! alum Brontez Purnell. Playing a form of fast and snotty lo-fi, be sure not to miss out on this show! –Erin Dage
