For a whole decade DJs Rob Paine and Willyum have teamed up to bring The Shakedown to memorable night club spots like Five Spot, the old Silk City, Bubble House, and its current home at the Barbary. Tonight the duo that has been involved with such techno/house institutions as 611 Records, Solomonic Sound System, and Worship Recordings will be taking there 10 Year Anniversary Party to the Trocadero, and they’ll be joined by 2 of Philadelphia’s most legendary DJs. From being a DJ/producer/remixer/artist to owning Ovum Recordings, Josh Wink is a world renowned jack of all trades. And from his days of touring with Digable Planets and collaborating with Ursula Rucker on Ovum, to earning a Pew Fellowship in the Arts Award and releasing his album The Intricate Beauty, all the while finding the time to remix everyone from Tori Amos to Miles Davis, King Britt has certainly been a fine representative of the Philly music community.
