Spacey psych-rock outfit The Asteroid No. 4 are performing tonight at Johnny Brenda’s. These Philly music vets have been churning out sun-kissed pop morsels since the 90’s and are nearing the release of their 6th studio album Hail To The Clear Figurines due out on February 8 via The Committee To Keep Music Evil, the label run by the infamous Anton Newcombe of psychedelic peers Brian Jonestown Massacre. Their dreamy nostalgia makes you long for those warm summer days where all you had to do was to hang with some good friends listening to your favorite tunes on whatever hallucinogen was on the menu for the day as your minds and conversations wandered. (Good times, good times.) Also on the bill is most enjoyable spazzy electro group Snakes Say Hisss who sound like Dan Deacon arrangements with Nick Thorburn on vocals. Both acts are opening for Deli NYC favorite Bear Hands so don’t let the weather put you into a funk (not the good kind) and sled on down to the show this evening! Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N.
