UKHC band Shooting Daggers, comprised of Sal, Bea, and Raquel, have released their long-awaited debut album Love & Rage on the London label New Heavy Sounds.
Somewhere between riot grrrl, contemporary feminist hardcore, and skatepunk, Shooting Daggers serve up a steaming hot plate of raw energy that, on one hand, rails against the social ills of patriarchy, bigotry, and male-domination, and on the other, exudes the positive forces of intersectional feminism and self-love.
The 9-song debut includes several hardcore sing-along anthems with lyrical themes focusing on feminism and queer identity, dismantling the male gaze, queer skateboarders, narrow viewpoints, channeling pain into power, opening one’s eyes and ears to genocide, animal cruelty, and war crimes. If this sounds up your alley (and why wouldn’t it!) check out the new Shooting Daggers album.
