Seismic Thrust generates a potent mixture of sound with their new EP Be Cool, which will be available on cassette, via King Pizza Records, this evening at Venue Boy. The band delivers that thick, sludgy, engulfing cloud of haze as snarling bass and residual-ringing guitar are cooled and mellowed by vocals, which are unearthed from a guttural place and still stretched in a soothing manner. It’s grungy, smoke-filled psych with a crisp fresh percussive snap and a lingering jangle that peers through to the other side. Tonight, Seismic Thrust begins a nine-date run with New York psych-punk quartet Chimes, who blends alluring vocals and instrumental raw force. The sincere, emotively-exposed songs of Pill Friends kick of the evening. Venue Boy, (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info.), 8pm, Donation, All Ages – Michael Colavita
