Pinkwash’s debut LP (coming out via Don Giovanni Records) is a point of intrigue, which only escalates as time passes. The raw, blistering, smash-n-grab noise-rockers exhibit an unforgiving intensity, demonstrating an outpouring of emotion. It’s a heavy, somewhat primal display that forms an uncompromising, combative force that hits one’s core. Tonight, they headline at Boot & Saddle, possibly with a glimpse into that future release. With a new EP Take Me To Honey Island on Bratty Records, Pouty hits a pop-punk note that’s parts charging grit with a universal sensibility. The band is features Rachel Gagliardi (Slutever), who recently relocated back to Philly from LA, and Cat Park (Amanda X, Bandname, Eight). Garage-pop quartet Marge lights the fuse on what promises to be an interesting evening of local music. Boot & Saddle, 1131 S. Broad St., 8:30pm, $8, 21+ (Photo by Amnada Hatfield) – Michael Colavita
