Our friends at PhilMOCA will be hosting the inaugural Philly Video Music Festival, which will run from February 26 – March 1. It will be co-curated by PhilaMOCA Program Director Eric Bresler and Golden Age of Music Video’s Stephen Pitalo, and will showcase a variety of programs centered around contemporary music video culture. Opening night will feature a program of locally-produced music videos of all genres, styles, and budgets. They are currently having an open call for submissions to the festival. If you are interested in being considered to participate, email your video links to curation@philamoca.org. Please include the director’s name and its year of production. Physical copies of videos (DVDs, LaserDiscs, Betamax, etc.) will not be accepted. There is no submission fee, and deadline for submissions is Thursday, February 12, 2015. BTW: Though it will be more of curated showcase than a competition, a jury will reward select videos for unique accomplishments.
