Some of you have probably been gettin’ your drink on for Philly Beer Week. And as the curtain begins to pull shut for the ten-day celebration, I look forward to ending things at Dock Street Brewery’s PBW Scavenger Run & Free Music Fest, as I always do every year. Now, I’m not going to lie. I neither have the physical capability or desire to do any running around today, but you can be sure as hell to count me in for some great brews, scrumptious pizzas, and sweet local acts. As usual, it’s an eclectic lineup that feeds off the diversity of the West Philly neighborhood. Ready to throwdown this year for your listening pleasure will be neo-psych sextet Needle Points (who are currently recording its next album with Dr. Dog’s Scott McMicken), experimental punks Northern Liberties, the funky sounds of Black Landlord, and L’ananas (featuring members of Grandchildren). It’s really too nice of a day to just stay at home and nurse hangover. A bit of the hair of the dog, a few slices, and an afternoon of good tunes will make the pain all go away. Dock Street Brewery, 50th St. & Baltimore Ave., 2:30pm – 8pm, Free, All Ages – Alexis V.
