New Music Video: “Ole” – Mumblr

Posted on:

Shot after hours at Han Dynasty’s Old City location, Mumblr’s new music video for “Ole,” found on their latest album The Never Ending Get Down (Fleeting Youth Records), interprets the song’s sexually tense subject matter via dance. Directed by Sean Brown, Scott Stitzer and Katy Ament demonstrate a playful intense energy, locking into that infectious yet seriously raucous vibe that the band has etched out. You can catch them next Tuesday at Goldilocks Gallery with Pill Friends, Past Life, and Tomato Dodgers.

PET SUN – “THE DAWN” VIDEO

Posted on:

The handsome fellas in Pet Sun have just released a new music video for their tune "The Dawn" which is the opening track off their debut self-titled LP. The video is a good balance between a low budget horror movie and a 90’s grunge video. The tune obviously rips with their Fender Mustangs cranked, bass lines groovin, Parth doin god knows what on drums and Stephane’s vocals alternating between vicious yelling and soothing "aahh’s". You should already own the Pet Sun LP. So watch this video now k? – Kris Gies

JAUNT – NEW SINGLE “HELLO”

Posted on:

Hamilton jangle-poppers Jaunt have released a new track from their upcoming EP. "Hello" is a quick alt-pop tune with high end vocals laying quite comfortably over some jangly guitars. The whole tune slithers in and out of your mind like a dream. It’s short and catchy. Definitely makes you want to hear more of this EP which will be released in July. – Kris Gies

Vivienne Eastwood’s undulating shoegazer is back at Sunnyvale on 07.02

Posted on:

Despite being now three years old, the only single released to date by Brooklyn-based shoegazers Vivienne Eastwood still manages to have heart-wrenching and mind-altering effects on us.  The track is entitled “Rose Pedals,” (with a "d"), which is either a clever play on words linking back to shoegazer music, or an hilariously appropriate typo – we experienced something similar a few years ago when one of our interns thought guitar pedals was spelled ‘petals‘ – awww…
With its expansive reverberation and undulating guitars, this is a song that may cause the listeners to lose track of their surroundings. If they enjoy it, they may want to regain awareness before the weekend and find their way to Sunnyvale, where Vivienne Eastwood will be performing with Teen Body and Treatment on July 2nd. – Madeleine Grossman

We added this song to The Deli’s playlist of Best psych/shoegazer songs by emerging NYC artists – check it out!

Total Slacker announces new LP ‘Parallels’ + unveils single “Turn on The Lights”

Posted on:

One of the noisiest bands to grace the cover of The Deli Magazine (back in 2014, issue #37, which also featured an interview with Todd P), Total Slacker announced today the release of their third LP, entitled ‘Parallels,’ by unveiling single “Turn on The Lights,” which features epic overtones, ’80s and ’90s references and the usual wall of guitars; a wall that, in this song – rather uncharacteristically for the band – features "holes" that leave space for mellower interludes. ‘Parallels’ is scheduled for an August 19th release.
