Even with huge festivals like Outside Lands, there’s still a large amount of local acts that get lost in the shuffle of this fest’s rock star studded line-up’s and the immense number of bands in general. While great underground local bands may be hard to pick out, it isn’t impossible. That’s why we here at The Deli Magazine San Francisco have put together a list of the 12 bands that are currently representing and residing in the Bay Area, and are making amazing music.
Here’s our local underground choice for Day Three at the Outside Lands Festival:
Whitenoize | SAN FRANCISCO | Day 3 @ The Dome by Heineken Stage – 12 to 1:30 – Whitenoize is a house club style DJ that creates some killer remixes. Their recent remix of Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie” keeps the familiar lyrics and feel of Timberlake’s song while mixing in a hefty amount of bass and disco melodies.
Sleight of Hands | SAN FRANCISCO | Day 3 @ The Dome by Heineken Stage – 1:30 to 3 – Sleight of Hands is a classic house DJ who blends together old samples and heavy bass and drums to bring danceable club music. The track, “All Night”, features an echoed sample with repetitive synths and a heavy rhythm section – perfect to get down to.
The Easy Leaves | SONOMA COUNTY | Day 3 @ Sutro Stage – 12:00 to 12:45 – The Easy Leaves play some good old Americana music – with country-esque guitar melodies and a heavy emphasis on vocals. Their song “Get Down” breaks down in the middle with a short harmonica solo and even back-up vocals and banjo. – Victor Casillas Valle
