Hot Milk, the new EP from trio of Slomo Sapiens, recently surfaced. Sweaty, slithering rock & roll pours out of the speakers. Harnessing fuzzed-out guitar riffs reinforced with sly, rumbling-through-the-streets rhythms, the band concocts a sugary garage-psych confection. Counterbalancing contagious vocals that switch gears on songs like “Floater,” with a heavy, omnipresent foundation, the batch of tracks appears playful at moments, but still packs a punch.
