It’s a good weekend for punk in Philly, and Pissed Jeans, Philly hardcore veterans, are starting it off tonight at Johnny Brenda’s. The Allentown/Philly four-piece has been creating heavy, violent, rock and roll for about a decade, and has recorded four turbulent albums along the way, the last three of which have been released by legendary Sub Pop Records. On their most recent album, Honeys, produced by Alex Newport, the boys sounded a bit more refined, which is not to say that they don’t still can’t creat a serious mosh pit, but they’ve rounded out the edge of that head-banging metal. Frontman Matt Korvette still screams the kind of lyrics that you can’t help but relate to, like the pains of being something of a man-child in this day and age on “Teenage Adult.” Come on out this evening, and never give up your rebellious youth!
