As the temperature begins to drop and darkness overshadows light in Philly, we start to hideout in our caves in preparation for winter. Well, winter hasn’t entrapped the city just yet so I suggest that you make it out to Kung Fu Necktie tonight, and warm up with some whiskey and blankets of reverb nestling you into one of our favorite cavernous watering holes. And don’t worry. The music of Moon Women might seem frightening at first with their jagged guitar work accompanied by husky, ominous vocals, but fear not of the sounds in the night for the light of dawn will soon come before you know it. OK – sorry, enough with the spooky imagery that was left over from Halloween. If you’re not afraid of some badass rock, then you really should catch the stellar combination of Moon Women opening for Wooden Shjips this evening. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St., 8pm, $10, 21+ (Video by Joe Burns) – Alexis V.
