Beloved indie-folk artist Hezekiah Jones and the cavalcade of “Jones” Family members that act as his band are working on their most ambitious project to date. They have been laying out the groundwork for the follow-up album to the well-received Have You Seen Our New Fort? for months, and come December – they’ll be hitting the studio to lay it down. The band will also be attempting to release the album without label support, and to do so, they’ve launched a Pledge Music campaign that will crowdfund the album and support Mighty Writers, a Philly organization that helps young writers hone their skills. Before they hit the studio, the Jones Family will be throwing a preview party at Ardmore Music Hall tonight, and they’ll be joined by their longtime friend and acclaimed singer-songwriter Mutlu. The singer of Turkish descent most recently released the five-song EP, The Dream Book, which is a vibrant blend of world music, soul, reggae, and folk rock. Rounding out the lineup will be the charismatic frontman of folk institution Hoots & Hellmouth, Sean Hoots. Ardmore Music Hall, 23 E. Lancaster Ave., 7PM, $14 21+ – Bill McThrill
