I miss the days when I’d come across the talented Lillie Ruth Bussey, a.k.a. Bianka Brunson, around town performing on the street, in a random art gallery or possibly even in the local Laundromat. With her artificial turf, knick knacks and musical toys surrounding her, she’d take the crowd to another world, whether it was one of complete vulnerability and isolation or a freaky deaky dance party. It’s been quite a long time since I’ve seen her moniker on a bill. Probably because according to her Facebook, she is currently making her homebase Claymont, DE, but to me, she’ll always embody that outside-the-box creative spirit that Philly’s music community possesses. Lillie Ruth Bussey will be opening for another locally bred, gifted performer, indie music darling Mirah, a.k.a. Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn, who now resides in New York City after spending many years on the Left Coast. Welcome them home again alongside Olympia, WA by way of South West France Tender Forever tonight at Golden Tea House! “An intimate and SURPRISE night of music that will hug your heart.” Golden Tea House, (Please contact jeffrey@littlebabysicecream.com for more info.), 7pm, $10, All Ages – Q.D.
