Avant Cellist Ishmael Ali has released the first single, “Stars in my Pocket“, from his forthcoming debut solo album, Burn the Plastic, Sell the Copper, which is due out on January 30th via Amalgam.
Aside from Cello, Ali adds electronics, vocals, and is responsible for the compositions. He is joined by Ed Wilkerson Jr. (tenor saxophone, alto clarinet), Corey Wilkes (trumpet), Jim Baker (piano, ARP), Brianna Tong (voice), and Bill Harris (drum set, percussion).
