“Promiseland climbed the pipes and hung from them. He was threatening rock n’ roll suicide before asking for another shot of mezcal, since he had spilled his first,” up-and-coming indie label House of Feelings describes the total debauchery that broke out at PowerHouse last week.
On Thursday, November 14th, House of Feelings threw the first show in their residency at Bowery Electric – this one called PowerHouse. The last show they threw was Le Bang’s Sleaze Ball at TV Eye, but PowerHouse is the first of a series of shows for House of Feelings’ new residency at Bowery Electric.
The lineup was Pisha, Rare DM (managed by House of Feelings) and Promiseland, with Eve Swords of Kassie Krut DJ’ing.
Pisha was accompanied on stage by her bassist and a magnificent backup dancer (we don’t see enough of those in the DIY scene). Her music is whimsical and dark, electronic and pop-y, but has elements of rock. She is a really incredible performer, hypnotizing the crowd with her witchy demeanor.
According to House of Feelings, highlights of the show involved “Pisha transporting us to some go-go dancing universe, then Rare DM coming in with her mid-show DJ set and taking us to Berlin, and then Promiseland just going absolutely crazy, hanging from the ceiling and climbing anything he could.” Rare DM was hypnotic in her own right, like an out-of-this-world visitor, both from the future and the past at the same time.
“We look for artists who are really pushing the envelope and starting to break through the noise. We selected the lineup collectively, as we do most things at HoF,” House of Feelings tells The Deli.
Promiseland brought the house down to close out PowerHouse, going full-on ape-shit, while the crowd went feral.
The next House of Feelings residency show is December 20th at Bowery Electric, so keep an eye out for that announcement! Keep up with House of Feelings here.
They also just dropped a bunch of awesome merch, which you can purchase here, to support all their artists, residency, projects, and ventures!
