Floating acoustics, soft harmonies, mandolins, and lightly breathing harmonicas make up the sweet sound of duet I Hate You Just Kidding. Jessi Fulghum and Jeremy Brock, two dreamers from Costa Mesa, started writing and playing songs together in 2009, and released their "Untitled" EP in the summer of 2010. The songs "My Little Dove" and "Sun-dried Tomatoes" have an airy, summery folk type sound much like The Shins. The 5 track EP transitions into a more ambient indie feel reminiscant of early Bright Eyes, with the tracks "My Hands/My Fate" and "Untitled". I Hate You Just Kidding was nominated for "Best New Artist", "Best Folk", and "Best Live Acoustic" last year at The Orange County Music Awards, and their new EP "I’m A Submarine" drops on March 1st…just in time to freshen up for spring!
