Everyone knows a sexy guitar or bass line when they hear one right? But what about sexy horns and winds? Bad Credit No Credit – one of the more suprising acts to see around NYC – take full advantage of the seductive abilities of trumpet, sax, flute and even clarinet in their latest EP ‘The Whole Buffalo.’ The alt-rock mess leads with a maddening trumpet solo in ‘Rock Hudson’t Wristwatch,’ and things keep blazing from there, moving from a punk-driven insanity in ‘Shit Hits The Fan,’ to quieter moments in my favorite track, ‘Vampyre Song’ (streaming below). This band gives some under appreciated instruments their long-awaited place in front of a rock stage, along with theatrical (in a punky way) screaming female vocals. – Mike Levine (@Goldnuggets)
