The Spinto Band are returning to Kung Fu Necktie tonight for the third week of their residency. They’ll be bringing along the sweet, genteel vocals of singer-songwriter Heyward Howkins, one of the founding members of local indie choral supergroup The Silver Ages. He’ll be opening up the evening, and you’ll get a sneak preview of his forthcoming debut album The Hale & The Hearty, which is due out June 26. The Extraordinaires will also be sharing their unique brand of theatrical folk rock/pop. You should also expect new material from the gloriously unpredictable South Philly outfit since they’ve been working on a new album at Fancy Time Studio with Kyle “Slick” Johnson. Indie pop lovers should not miss tonight! Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St., 8pm, $8, 21+ (Heyward Howkins Photo by Kyle Costill) – H.M. Kauffman
