Tonight you’ll find the evolving sonic experiment known as Grimace Federation pumping through the sound system at Silk City. At the core, you’ll still have the driving beats of one of the finest drummers on the local indie music scene, Chris Wood. However, Wes Schwartz has laid down his traditional electric guitar to discover new ways to get the crowd moving with his laptop and electronic toys which should be perfect for Silk City’s dance club/70’s porno lounge environment. Grimace Federation will be opening for rad Philly-based EDM producer Jasha Tull who is heavily influenced by hip hop and (what I can only assume) copious amounts of drugs – which me likey. He goes by the moniker Space Jesus. Be prepared to have your brain scrambled! Silk City, 435 Spring Garden St., 9pm, $7, 21+ (Grimace Federation Photo by Mike Persico) – Q.D. Tran
