This year has been an interesting one for Giant Mind. It started out with the band recording a new EP in Two Frames, and mastering it over at JLM Sound who has worked with the likes of Animal Collective and Dirty Projectors. Shortly afterwards, the band went through some major creative changes by going from a five-piece to a trio. But the remaining members have persevered through the changes and have managed to hone their sound moving in a new direction. Giant Mind will be right in their element at Kung Fu Necktie tonight when they open up for Portland’s Nurses, who are touring in support of their latest album Dracula. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N.
