Final Rockers! Show at Tritone Feb. 22

For nearly five years the Mighty Paradocs have brought their celebration of Rockers! to the Tritone stage. The event has always given bands that add a message to their musical mayhem an opportunity to jam to their hearts content. And it even found the time to serve up a special helping of spoken word, dancing, art, and more. While the band has assured that the event is far from over, tonight marks its final hurrah at the classic venue where it all began. Joining the Mighty Paradocs for one last time in the little red room on South St. will be familiar faces to the Rockers!’s stage. The National Rifle are taking a break from recording their full-length album this evening so they should have some new tunes for you as they finish up and get ready to embark on a spring tour. Between being a part of NYC/Philly’s the Kominas, lead gunslinger in Sunny Ali & the Kid, and one of the strangest tweeters that we follow, Hassan Ali Malik (a.k.a. Sunny Ali) seems to be doing his own thang, and tonight he’ll be taking the stage solo to pay his respects. Add in the soulful gospel punk of Baptist Preachers and the folk-y grunge rock of Sherman with specials guests Joe Jordan and DJ Evil V, and it will be a proper way for the Rockers! to close things out.
