Ex-Clockcleaner John Sharkey III has a new project called Dark Blue where he teams up with Andy Nelson (Paint It Black, Ceremony) and Mike Sneeringer (who doesn’t seem to be part of Purling Hiss anymore, according to the band’s Facebook page). The trio is coming out with a debut 7" single that will be available via Brooklyn-based indie label Katorga Works. It’s A-side "Subterranean Man" sounds like something that you might hear seeping out onto the shadowy streets of Manchester from its local pubs in the late 70s/early 80s. Dark Blue already has a sweet show lined up for this evening opening for the truly rad Deerhunter at Union Transfer. Hopefully this shitty weather won’t deter folks from making it out tonight. Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St., 8:30pm, $15 – $17, All Ages – Alexis V.
