The music of Cookie Rabinowitz puts a smile on my face. I remember checking out Philly AIDS Thrift at the re-grand opening in their new space (which is rad so check it out), and I think that the DJ slipped “R & R Karaoke” (below) into his set, and it simply made me feel good inside. Now, I wish that Cookie Rabinowitz would start churning out episodes of their animated series again. That shit is hilarious, and it’s been waaaaay too long since they’ve posted a new one! Well, until they do, you can swing by The Fire tonight, and catch them live with local hip hop producer Mr. Green opening for Mia & the Johnson. It’s been awhile since you’ve probably heard from Mia Johnson who used to be a staple in the singer-songwriter scene in Philly, but it seems like she’s back and misses the stage.
