Clark Park Music & Art Fest Benefit at WCL April 15

As the seasons change the prospects of enjoying some quality music and park life during several festivals is upon us yet again. And Cloud Entertainment recently revealed that the 40+ year tradition of Clark Park Music & Art Fest is slated to come back on June 30. But before that, they’ll be throwing a special event at World Café Live tonight to raise funds for the festival. Even though the Dead Milkmen are still playing out in support of their first studio album in 16 years The King in Yellow, their acoustic crooning frontman Joe Jack Talcum is also going strong with his solo career. And tonight he’ll most likely be performing tunes from the latest split album that he dropped with Samuel Locke-Ward. Since Downtown Club recently finished recording their debut EP with Jeff Ziegler (Kurt Vile, The War on Drugs, etc.) they are more than ready to share their dark, dance-y synth-infused rock. With a new CD and 2 tours in the works, West Philly’s premier oddball folk collective On the Water will have plenty to pump you up for once they take the stage. And Jampa will also be laying down their flamenco bossa nova soul this evening. Come out and do your part to keep a West Philly tradition alive!
