Twee quintet Catnaps make an appearance at the Glitoria this evening. The group known for their cutesy, catchy self-revealing indie-pop concoctions appears to be evolving, meshing youthful naïveté with an edgy aggression that channels adolescent angst. It’s as if that sweet sound hopped off the clean curb and fell into the dirty street. While the music still retains the witty, charming vocals, the instrumental accompaniment is rougher and jaded around the edges employing a fuzzy grunge/garage aesthetic on their latest EP Shuteye.
