Red Air – Gas Powered Rock!

Posted on:

Red Air calls themselves “Gasoline Fueled Pop Punk Rock”….you’d think this day and age they might be trying to use a different form of energy to fuel their rock…perhaps solar or electric. I’m still a fan of gasoline though so it’s cool with me. They have some attitude in their songs but it looks like they know how to have a good time too. That is a solid combo. They released an EP earlier this year titled “Invincible” and will be playing The Bovine Sex Club on September 10. – Kris Gies

Green Girl – Debut EP Comin’ Soon!

Posted on:

Green Girl is gettin’ set to release their debut EP next month. They have 2 tracks available now on their bandcamp page. Major 90‘s vibes comin’ from the track “Connor Saves The Day”. This could easily be a theme song for the Edmonton Oilers and Connor McDavid but I’m not sure if thats what they meant when they wrote this track. Dig in to this track if you like 90‘s alternative with female vocals and get ready for their EP Release Party September 11 at The Burdock in Toronto. – Kris Gies

OL’CD – “PREMIUM TRASH” EP!

Posted on:

These 4 Toronto garagers are back with a brand new bangin’ EP. Ol’CD play rippin’ garage rock with a lil bit of surf rock and a whole lotta party mixed in. The new EP titled "Premium Trash" starts with a straight up mosher "Hang Nail" which seems to tell the tale of a serious lingerer. "Not Me" is a sweet tune with some nice solo action. Everything gets a bit hectic on the last track "Paralyzed" which was a nice change in feels to finish off this record. "Premium Trash" available on their bandcamp page now! Ol’CD hits the road for the east coast today so have a look at their tour dates on their facebook page. Their Toronto release party for "Premium Trash" goes down on August 27th at Silver Dollar. – Kris Gies

THE LAMAAS – “BUM LYFE” EP

Posted on:

Sometimes you can just look at a band name and know they are going to be sweet. So is the case for The Lamaas. They do noisy surf punk and sing about being a lazy teenager. We’ve all been there before…those were the days. Relive those good ol’ days with their EP titled "Bum Lyfe". Excellent summer tunes. Something to listen to on the bus headin’ to the beach. Go do nothing and listen to it. – Kris Gies

CROWN LANDS – “MANTRA VIDEO

Posted on:

Crown Lands are a 2 piece rock duo from Oshawa. They have some definite White Stripe influences with their bluesy guitar riffs and dirty vocals but they separate themselves with their individual styles. The drummer rips and sings at the same time while the guitar player also rocks a moog bass pedal with his foot so he keeps it groovy while shredding. Here’s their video for "Mantra". Keep your ears open for more from Crown Lands. – Kris Gies

In the meantime they have released a three song EP titled "Death Letter EP". The title track being a cover of a Son House track and also done by the White Stripes. PET SUN – “THE DAWN” VIDEO

Posted on:

The handsome fellas in Pet Sun have just released a new music video for their tune "The Dawn" which is the opening track off their debut self-titled LP. The video is a good balance between a low budget horror movie and a 90’s grunge video. The tune obviously rips with their Fender Mustangs cranked, bass lines groovin, Parth doin god knows what on drums and Stephane’s vocals alternating between vicious yelling and soothing "aahh’s". You should already own the Pet Sun LP. So watch this video now k? – Kris Gies

JAUNT – NEW SINGLE “HELLO”

Posted on:

Hamilton jangle-poppers Jaunt have released a new track from their upcoming EP. "Hello" is a quick alt-pop tune with high end vocals laying quite comfortably over some jangly guitars. The whole tune slithers in and out of your mind like a dream. It’s short and catchy. Definitely makes you want to hear more of this EP which will be released in July. – Kris Gies

LAURA COLE – HOME FROM THE UK

Posted on:

One of our favorite artists here at the Deli has been busy overseas. Laura Cole brought her sultry voice (and bass player) over the UK to work with Harvey Summers on a new record. They just finished a tour of the UK to celebrate and promote the release of this brand new album "Human". The first single released was called "Skeletons" and it’s right up Laura’s alley. It’s a funky lounge tune that we know from Laura but with an added horn section to spice it up. She is back in Canada and ready to release this brand new album on Thursday June 23rd at Lula Lounge in Toronto. – Kris Gies

THE BALLROOM BABIES – “I WON’T CHANGE”

Posted on:

Representin’ Mississauga…3 brothers loaded with talent and like this new track suggests…they won’t change. This track "I Won’t Change" is a bluesy ripper of a tune. Sweet licks and double vocals throughout. The Ballroom Babies were recently shortlisted for 97.7 HTZ FM Rock Search Contest and let’s be real…they should have won it all. This track is just a sample of what you can hear from these guys at Cherry Cola’s on Saturday when they play with Flamingo Báy and Retroaction in support of Womb’s Album Release. – Kris Gies

WINE LIPS – OUTTA CONTROL VIDEO

Posted on:

Last month Toronto garage trio Wine Lips released their debut EP. It’s a quick blast of true garage rock right in the mouth. Fuzzy guitars, thumpin’ drums, howlin’ vocals and punchin’ basslines all wrapped up in a neat lil EP. The stand out track if you ask me is "Outta Control" and they just dropped a new video for it courtesy of WANTED! LIVE. Enjoy this wicked track and go see Wine Lips at Smiling Buddha on Saturday along with Possum, Spells of Vertigo and Acid Priest. – Kris Gies
