Local folk rock duo, Assateague perform live in San Francisco at Amneisa on July 18th. Assateague will be sharing the bill with plethora of touring country folk rock bands, Zoe Muth and The Lost High Rollers, Miwa Gemini and Margaret Glaspy. These bands range from traditional country, to gypsy folk, folk rock, to minimalist alt singer/ songwriter music. Although the bands are sonically diverse, they sit neatly into the acoustic folk and country genres as their unique touches to their music will make for an interesting live show.

Popular San Francsico based post pop band, Maus Haus is playing an intimate show with the talented electronic indie dance band, Great American Cities in SF tomorrow night. San Francisco based singer songwriter and self proclaimed "lofi troubadour", Joseph Childress has released a new single from his upcoming full-length album, The Rebirths. The Rebirths is a collection of songs that were written while Childress was traveling on the road for two years. The album is quietly moving and conveys a clear and well-painted musical picture of transient life.

Childress has released a single entitled, Whispering Tides to hold us over until his new album is officially released on August 20th through Empty Cellar Records.

Baltimore’s premiere shoegaze revivalist band, Bad Liquor Pond will be playing live at Golden West Cafe tonight night with Highspire, who is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the existence of their thrilling psych band by embarking on a national tour. The aggressive psych nugaze band, Ceremony will round out the bill making this a Baltimore based live event you don’t want to miss. Bay Area based alternative county-folk artist, M. Lockwood Porter will be performing live in San Francisco at Bottom of the Hill on July 11th. Porter will be sharing the bill with two other amazing local musical outfits, Matt Jaffe and the Distractions and Great American Cities.

San Francisco based neo psychedelic rock band, Cellar Doors are playing a great show with a unique line up that should not be missed. The intense San Francisco based garage-folk rock band, Growwler has released an ambitious new music video for the title track of their 4-song album entitled, Shooter’s Hill. The music video is just as high energy as the track, making Shooter’s Hill an action packed effort that is hard to ignore.

The 3rd Annual San Frandelic Music Festival (a The Deli Magazine San Francisco sponsored event) possesses one of the most intriguing if not unique line ups this year, as the fest promises a rare performance from the endearingly controvertial filmmaker, actor, artist, model and musician, Vincent Gallo. Cult psych rock favorites, Spindrift and Guy Blakeslee of The Entrance Band will also play the bill along with local bands, Cool Ghouls and Virgin Hymns.

San Francisco based neo sludge punk band, Scraper released their debut EP on July 16th of this year. This intensely gritty local punk outfit’s new self titled 7 inch release was produced and recorded by the legendary Ty Segall and Eric Bauer. Scraper’s 6 track EP is a homage to underground garage punk, and takes you through a dark tunnel of sludgy musical overtones and surreal lyrics.
