O Presidente The She’s and Metacomet Perform at Bottom of the Hill TONIGHT

Posted on:

Tonight, Bottom of the Hill will be bringing a range of acts – from new age music to some classic garage rock. O Presidente combines 50s and 60s style sounds with a modern garage rock sound. Within the last year, they have released a new album titled “Clube De Futebol” which includes the song, “Buddy”. This track emits distorted vocals, catchy, doo-wop melodies, and a lo-fi sound. The She’s, a San Francisco beach pop group, takes on a summer feel and bring it to every venue they play year around. Their music features melodic-centric songs and fun and sing-a-long vocals. Metacomet is a dream pop band that takes on a new age sound with indie rock elements. They just released a split with Andrea Schiavelli with the song, “Sayanora (What A Terror)”, showcasing Christina Boyd’s, Metacomet frontwoman, vocal talent and range.

Petejota’s Final Release

Posted on:

San Francisco based, underground garage rock music project, Petejota is coming to an end. This short lived but mighty musical facet was created solely from the mind and artistic fervor of Hernando Buitrago. Buitrago is also a member of the more contemporary experimental indie band, Magic Fight who has been winning attention around the Bay Area in their own right.

With all that said Petejota has left us with a final piece of music entitled, Burnouts/LetsTakeItSlowThen Single via sound cloud. Make sure you give it a listen and wish Buitrago the best on future projects, and his work with Magic Fight. –Jordannah Elizabeth

White Cloud Fine Points Dylan Shearer Play Hemlock Tavern Tonight – 9/26

Posted on:

White Cloud, who will be headlining the night at the Hemlock Tavern tonight, takes psychedelic melodies and infuses them with Ian Curtis-like vocals, filled with heavy effects and a memorable arrangement of harmonization. Their song, “Car Wreck” features a heart beat-reminiscent intro, which is fast and loud, and then, breaks off into a dreamy chorus. Fine Points, who regrettably don’t have music readily available, feature members of Sleepy Sun. Lastly, acoustic singer/songwriter, Dylan Shearer will open up the night with a simple combination of vocals and acoustic guitar. Thunderegg Review

Posted on:

Mike of The Deli Magazine NYC has given us a little guest contribution. Thanks Mike!

-jordannah, sfeditor

A fixture of  he Bay area’s DIY scene for well over a decade now, alt-rock group Thunderegg has gone through many changes, but have always kept the music fun, catchy, and lyrically inspiring… sort of like Robert Pollard’s alt-country, if Robert Pollard sobered up a bit.

Latest record ‘Not What I Meant’ contains the kinds of difficulties and contradictions familiar to any long term listener of Will Georgantas’s lo-fi 4-track adventures. While the title track details the problems of communicating what you mean in a relationship, album closer ‘what I Wrote Down’ is a country jamboree of reflective sentiments. Regrets abound, but never sounded as much fun. Check it out below. Mike Levine (@Goldnuggets)
