Coronavirus keeping you in the house? Show cancellations rocking your music lover heart to the core? Fear not, for not even the crushing despair of self quarantine can keep you from jamming out to Weathers‘ new single "Feel Good". The alt-rock group just finished their tour with Echosmith — good timing — and "Feel Good" captures all of the energy of the band’s live show into one synth-filled good vibe torch song. Frontman Cameron Boyer wrote the song as a testament to his search for an escape route from loneliness and despair while on tour in the beginning of last year, and you can feel that drive come through in his voice. If you’re looking for a song to get you through this potentially lonely and isolating time, give "Feel Good" a shot; listen to it below. – Will Sisskind
Hollow Fortyfives release new EP “Weekender” for any day of the week
The Hollow Fortyfives have put out their new EP Weekender, and despite what the name may suggest, the record suits any day of the week. The indie rock jams of Travis Corsaut, Brett Incardone, and Lucas Renberg pay tribute to late nights, debauchery, and general reckless fun outside the confines of the doldrums of the workplace, the chore chart, and the day-to-day responsibilities. At under twenty minutes, Weekender makes for a good one-time listen on your way home from work on a Friday evening, or — if you put it on loop — you can make it your soundtrack for your whole Saturday or Sunday, if not both. Weekender is the follow-up to the band’s debut 2018 LP Strange Times, and while the rock-and-roll power remains, there’s an extra crunch on the new EP that gives it just a little more bite. Check out one of the tracks from Weekender, called "Get Out", below. – Will Sisskind

Carrousel releases modern day lo-fi video for “A Solitary Soul”
CARROUSEL — the duo of Joel and Sharon Piedt — have released a music video for their new single "A Solitary Soul", off their new EP I Wasn’t Well. The song brings the psych rock energy of the Piedts, but the video shows real creativity within limits, as the duo used iPhones alone to shoot the footage. In this day and age, to use just a phone to shoot a film might seem lo-fi. But the other production values the Piedts focused on took their video to another level. Their spacesuit costumes and locations — some of which were used to film the Tatooine scenes for Star Wars — create a sense of depth and atmosphere on top of that which the music already provides. Take a look at the video for yourself below, and go find I Wasn’t Well on CARROUSEL’s Bandcamp. – Will Sisskind

The Millennial Club drops new single just in time for love’s favorite holiday
In a society filled with dead-end online dating apps, the crafty art of being ghosted, and empty, unfulfilling relationships, it is easy to see why most people hate Valentine’s Day. John War releases forward-thinking single “Corn Syrup” from debut LP
John War is putting out his debut album Fantasy soon, and they’ve released the single "Corn Syrup" as a preview of what’s to come. "Corn Syrup" sounds the way War envisions indie rock evolving in the 2020s: Rich with sound both analog and synthesized; at once lo-fi and with high production values. The futuristic sound of "Corn Syrup" matches the lyrical content, which comes chock full of references to the apocalypse, dishonest culture, and the present and oncoming dystopia. "Corn Syrup" and its lyric video are out now; the rest of Fantasy will come soon, so stay tuned. Listen to "Corn Syrup" below. – Will Sisskind
Emma Charles drops home-video inspired clip for “Connecticut”
Emma Charles continues to rise up the ranks of singer-songwriter notoriety in the LA area with the release of her new EP Connecticut, as well as the video for its title track. On "Connecticut", Charles uses her 2019 road trip from her home state of Connecticut to Los Angeles as an allegory for transitioning from the familiar to the unfamiliar, the comfortable to the unknown. The video for the track shows Charles as a child in many of her family’s home videos, but it ends with the present-day singer-songwriter smiling, showcasing her readiness to go forth into whatever comes next for her. Billboard named Charles a Best Emerging Artist of 2020, and NOW That’s What I Call Music named her a What’s Next artist, an honor given previously to acts such as Shawn Mendes and Billie Eilish. Sara Melson takes it easy in new video for “State Of Ease”
Fans of Kate Bush’s more mellow work will find something to love in Sara Melson‘s new track "State of Ease". Melson, a songwriter and actress, shines on her new single, marked by her airy vocals and the meditative backing track simple piano chords and echoing drums.
