BBU is gearing up for a big push in 2012. They will be releasing a series of singles leading up to the release of their next mixtape "Bell Hooks" which will drop in February.
BBU is coming to Occupy Chicago this Saturday at 4pm in the park at Michigan and Congress as part of the Louder Than a Bomb event.
One of the more inventive group in Chicago right now is Narrow Sparrow. We posted their video for "Joe Meek’s Dream" back in September. Here is the mp3 for that track.

Narrow Sparrow will be releasing their debut EP, Synthworks on November 15, 2011. They will be giving it away for free online via their blog. The 4-song ep will also be released on 7” vinyl on December 21st, 2011. It is available for pre-order now at Hyperreality.
It has been a great year for Scattered Trees, and now they are returning home from their second nationwide tour. This year the band saw the release of their debut album Sympathy through Roll Call Records, recorded a Daytrotter session, had their video for the track "Sympathy" premired on Mtv Hive, and recently appeared on the PBS show Live at the Alley. Below is that appearance and a remix of their track "Four Days Straight" by Barbaric Merits.

Supreme Cuts has released a new video for his track "Trouble". This haunting video fits perfectly with their creepy post-dub sound.
Collages is the work of Jesse Bustamante, and through this moniker Jesse creates an array of dream pop and lush psych pop sound. His debut album was released late last month and is called Maya.
Collages will be performing at Empty Bottle on Nov. 18th.
The sophomore from the talented singer/songwriter Martha Berner is coming on December 13th. The album is six years in the making and will be called Fool’s Fanatsy. This is Martha’s first album with her new band The Significant Others.The album was recorded at Chicago’s Stranded On A Planet and produced by The Significant Others guitarist Scott Fritz. The band will be touring this winter, and below is our first sample of Fool’s Fantasy, "Cry".
This month, November 11th to be exact, Their Ocean will release their new ep Sunstoke. The band is currently working on their full-length debut album Skies Light Up which will be released in the Spring on 2012. Their Ocean is Keith Kreuser: lead vocals, drums, guitars, Jason Hunt: guitars, keyboards and Jacob Croegaert: bass, vocals, guitars and keys.

At just 19 it hard to imagine how Kirby Kaiser could have risen any faster into the center of the Chicago music scene. She released her self-titled debut EP back in September, and the buzz has been building ever since. Kirby builds on the sound of the ’60’s girl-group pop sound, but clearly has a vision all of her own.
Kirby Kaiser will be performing at the VitaminWater Winterescape Party 2011 on Dec 2nd at Hard Rock Hotel’s Fender Ballroom with Smith Westerns.
If you are looking for something a little different this weekend than you should check the experimental and worldly sounds of Las Guitarras De Espana. The mixes spanish guitar, dance, and so much more. This year saw the band release their latest album Tantas Cosas, and they recently sent over the track "Cejilla".
