Save The Clocktower

Posted on:

Last Friday Save The Clocktower celebrated the release of their sophomore album, Through The Glass, at Double Door. The album is much more dance oriented and synth-pop driven then their 2011 debut album Carousel, but is still very enjoyable despite the sharp contrast.

If you missed their concert at Double Door you can still stream it at gigity.tv.

Beak @ Empty Bottle

Posted on:

The four-piece metal band Beak released their latest album, Eyrie, back in April through Someoddpilot Records. I say metal but the band bends a few genre with their grinding and aggressive sound.

The band recently released a video for their track "Billions of Eyes" which was partially filmed at The Empty Bottle.

You can catch Beak at The Empty Bottle on August 16th with Arriver, Planetsexploder, Alma Negra. The show is Free with RSVP.

New Release from Cold Slice Cassettes

Posted on:

The latest release from Chicago’s Cold Slice Cassettes is a mysterious discovery created by a drifter/traveling minstrel. Natural High For Low People from Jehosaphat Blow has fascinating story and sound. As the story goes this recording was discovered and "re-mastered from a strange, purple tape found at a garage sale on Prince St. down in the southside of Chicago". Blow is an amazing one man band that must be heard and is a solid find for this fun local label.
