Goodbye Felix Culpa!

After eight years of solid indie rock, Rockford’s Felix Culpa have called it a career. The band released two full-length album and few eps over the last eight years, but decided this week to end it. They recent release Sever Your Roots/Bury The Axe was released this year, and below is the video for the track "Our Holy Ghosts". They do plan to perform a final show in Chicago, and we will be you those details when they are available. You can read their farewell note on the front page of their website.

Before the Machinery of Other Skeletons by An Aesthetic Anaesthetic

An Aesthetic Anaesthetic is releasing a new album later this month called, Before the Machinery of Other Skeletons. This is the band’s follow-up to the ep they released back in February.

The band is know more for their live performances than their records but they have come closer to capturing the force in their sound on this project. The are throwing a pre-listening party for the album tonight (Aug. 12th) at Transitor (5045 N. Clark St.). You can catch them live at Beat Kitchen on August 26th.

Joe Pug “Speak Plainly, Diana”

Joe Pug has released a new video for his track "Speak Plainly, Diana". The video feature video from the road which is where he is now and has been for most of the last year, but he did take some time off recently to put the finishing touches on his next full-length album. Details on that album should be coming out soon, but in the meantime enjoy the video.

Blane Fonda “Foolish Croon”

Blane Fonda has announced that their next full-length album, Foolish Croon, will be released on September 23rd. The record release show is scheduled for Friday September 23 at Subterranean. The band began working on the album band in January and recorded Lightbox Studio with engineer Greg Panciera and Gravity.

They have also released a video for "Opportunity Rocks!" from their debut ep Master of Stars and Broken Arms.

MH “Black Animal”

MH is the recording name of local musician Martin Hayes, and back in February he released a beautiful folk-influence album called "Black Animal". You can stream the album below and purchase it here. This week he teamed up with artist Joy Whalen to create a video for the track "In The Blackness of Fire".
