The Kuhls @ Township

Posted on:

Sisters Renee and Grace Kuhl (aka The Kuhls) released the first single from their forthcoming debut full-length album, Holy Rollin’ last week. The track is called "Grimjack" and it is a good example of the way these two combine influences from ’90’s Alt-rock to boozed drenched Country Western. This album with the band’s follow to their 2011 ep.

You can catch The Kuhls at Township on December 15th.

Ragged Claws are Back!

Posted on:

It was way back in December of 2008 that Ragged Claws released their debut ep The Sleepwalk, but the trio is back with the 7 track effort Imagined Kings. Lead by the vocals and guitar of Paul Kremer, the trio has taken their time with this album, but it is worth the wait. From the shifting strut of the bi-lingual, "Frida", to the romantic tropical sea shanty "Maui", this album is one of the best Chicago releases of the year. The album is available on bandcamp and you can pay what you like for it.

You can catch Ragged Claws @ The Fulton Street Collective (200 W. Fulton St) on Dec. 14th and at The Whistler on Jan. 14th.

Kraken Mare is largest known body of liquid on the surface of Saturn’s moon Titan, but it is also the moniker that Harris uses to explore the ambient spaces of sound and electronic. "Iapetus Ocean" is Harris’ first release on Skell Batch, but his second as Kraken Mare.
