Tall Walker released the first single, "Clouds", from their debut EP back in April. The ep should be available soon, but in the meantime they are opening up for Minor Characters on Friday, Sept. 6th, at Schubas.

The high-energy garage rock trio Yeesh has released a new self-titled EP.

Yeesh will be on tour in October and it kicks off at Quenchers on October 3rd with Mr. Suit.

This week the local label Kranky released the 4th album, Era, from Disappears.

The band also released a video for the album’s lead single "Power". The video features an animated clip from artist Alexander Stewart.

The Hudson Branch have released a new single called "You Don’t Know Me". The single comes from the band’s third studio album which they are currently attempting to Kickstart.

There plan is to record the new album this fall. The band originally wrote 23 songs for the project but now have a solid 10 set for recording. You can help support them here.

Sundowner is the solo project of Chris McCaughan of The Lawrence Arms. His third album under that moniker, Neon Fiction, will be released via Fat Wreck Records on Sept. 3rd.

You can also hear the album’s lead track "Cemetery West" over at A/V Club. The record release event for Neon Fiction will take place at Beat Kitchen on Sept. 13th.

The Ross Originals have a new single out called "Broken Bone Blues". You can stream it below and download it for free via their bandcamp.

It was announced yesterday the young local band The Orwells have signed a worldwide publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis US. The label also announced that in September the band will release an EP and single both called, Who Needs You, produced by Dave Sitek.

The Orwells will be touring most of September and October. They will be performing next in Chicago at Subt on Halloween, Oct. 31st, with FIDLAR.

Neak has released a new video for his song "Do What You Love". The video was produced by and features production from Slot-A.

The track comes from the forthcoming album by Neak, Paura/Amore. This is the second single Neak has released form the new album, "The Kids" dropped back in June.

Post Child has released a new single called "Stop (What You’re Doing To Me)" today. The track comes from their forthcoming full-length album New Age Whatever. The single pushes forward the hard-hitting garage rock sound the band introduced us to on their 2012 debut EP.

Gemini Club has released a new single and video called "Sparkles". The video was shot entirely in Chicago and is a thing of beauty.

Gemini Club will be performing at North Cost Music Festival this Sunday, Sept 1st.

The trailer for the new movie, Memphis, feature Willis Earl Beal has been released. Beal is proving himself to be a true Renaissance Man by excelling in music, his album Nobody Knows drops Sept. 10th via HXC/XL, art, animation, and now acting.

Willis Earl Beal will be performing at Schubas on Sept. 6th.

Into It. Over It. (aka Evan Weiss) has released the second single from his forthcoming coming album, Intersections. The track is called "The Shaking of Leaves", and is a nod to early ’00’s indie rock.

The release event for Intersections will take place on Oct. 25th at Schubas.
