Listening to the new album from singer/songwriter Will Phalen, "The Dirt and the Air and the Grass", is like taking an epic road trip with an old friend. Will has a bunch a of new tales tell as you wind through the country roads as you head towards a coast. This is a driving in sound and style, and has a pure favor of Americana. It deals with friendship, love, and the journey of life.

The new album will be released on March 11th, and Will Phalen is celebrating the release of "The Dirt and the Air and the Grass" at The Hideout on March 7th.

Yoko and the Oh No’s

Yoko and The Oh No’s released their self-titled debut album last month. The album is filled with gritty blues, rock, and refreshing alt-soul. The band is fronted by the charismatic Max Goldstein.

The Irenes

The Irenes (Max Loebman and Stef Roti of Yoko & The Oh No’s) recently released their first demo, a track called "Drag". The duo is working on a EP which should be released later this year. On "Drag" the duo is clearly influenced by surf, garage, and noise pop.

The Irenes are participating in the next Young Camelot recording session with The Thons, ZKPR, and others on March 7th. If you haven’t already you need to check out all of the amazing live recording that Young Camelot has released over the last five months via bandcamp.

Thrizzy

We are quickly approaching the release of the free music from the new local label Maek. The label has signed several artist with the mission of releasing their music for free and through that building a stronger connection between fan an musician.

On March 2nd Maek will release The Jeffrey EP from EDM producer Thrizzy. The Jeffrey is a direct reference to what was smoked in Get Him To The Greek. You can check out the trailer for The Jeffrey below.

Will Post “Panthenon”

Will Post is the solo project of Bill Prokopow of I Fight Dragons. His debut album, "Panthenon", dropped today on itunes and soundcloud. The album is more introspective and intimate than his work I Fight Dragons, and filled with new electronic sounds beyond his standard NES effects. Bill and the band also announced today that he is leaving I Fight Dragons to focus on his work as Will Post.

I Fight Dragons will also be releasing a new album, "The Near Future", in 2014 and participating in the 2014 Vans Wraped Tour.
