Labors “Blue Funk”

Posted on:

Z.L. Melton and Labors have released their latest album, "Blue Funk", digitally on five different colors of vinyl. The album is thoughtful and inventive, from the muted horns that open on "The Grand East" to the somber strut of "Porcelain" that close. Labors cover several forms of songwriting from the southern devotional to the smoke-filled lounge singers ballad.

You can catch Labors at The Whistler on May 7th to celebrate the release of "Blue Funk".

Librariun

Posted on:

Librariun is an exciting and somewhat mysterious young duo who released their debut single "SF Clue" and played their first show this week. The single is solid power pop with a slight garage feel. The two tracks are catchy, well-written pop tunes and a sign of big things to come for this duo.

The Main Chance

Posted on:

The Main Chance is the project fronted by Will Gosner of Lakesigns. Earlier this month he released the debut album from The Main Chance, Lunagraphy. The album is beautifully intimate folk-pop. My favorite track from the album in "The End Is Sweat and Near". It is the perfect early spring song with lyrics like "Spring had been knocking/Snowmelt weeping from the eaves/Tonight it’s all gone, full retreat,/And we’re heading for a deep freeze".

Purrple

Purrple is the work of Sky Adler and Jay Bends, and together they are preparing to release an EP this summer. The first single from the EP is called "Tide" and features a few bars from Tide K from local hip hop duo The Palmer Squares and wicked "Mr. Sandman" sample. Just breathe!
