Oozing Wound has teamed up with Adult Swim to release a new single called "Drug Reference". This is the 10th single that Adult Swim has released as part of their 2014 Singles Program.

Oozing Wound will be releasing their new LP, Earth Suck, via the local label Thrill Jockey on October 21st. You can preorder the album today.

The record release event for the new album will take place on October 27th at Empty Bottle with Rectal Hygienics.

Trip Hop duo The Atomica Project (Wade Alin and Christine Ingandson) have returned with a new full length album, Self Notes. This is the duo four full length release and it features a tremendous cover of The Cure’s "A Night Like This".

BJ The Chicago Kid has released a fantastic new single and video called "Perfect". The track conveys a positive up lifting message that everyone needs to hear.

Last week Twin Peaks released their new album Wild Onion and a video for their track "I Found A New Way".

Rooftop Sessions Chicago has released their performance with Bailiff. The band performs their song "Helicopter" which appeared on the recent EP Remise.

Bailiff will be performing at Lobster Fest 2014 at Navy Pier on August 17th.

Pop Punk group The Fall Four have released a summer themed video for their latest single, "Siren Song". This is the band’s second single, the follow-up tp April’s "Wake Up".

Tall Walker has released a new single, "Dance All Night", and a video for the track in 4K HD.

Dead Native’s self-titled sophomore album has an overall cosmic feel starting with the cover but building through out in the sound. The band blends echoing elements of psych rock, shoegaze, mototik, and pop. There is also a blues under current, but it is toned down from their 2013 debut, Keep It Strange". The adventure on the new album builds through out the tracks, but the most effective cosmic track has to be "Traveling". The 9 minute epic space journey seems built to put anyone into orbit. It is followed up by the one of the heavier tracks, "Clean Kill", that trudges through muddy fields of throbbing guitars. The album closes with an anthemic flourish with "Respite" with all instruments soaring to a close. This may or may not be a concept album, but it does truly feel like a complete listen that was meant to be played track by track.

Dead Native’s new album will be released on Sept. 2nd.

Julie Byrne returns home tonight, August 1st, from her Summer Tour with Adam Lempel and Sunatirene. Bryne released her debut LP, Rooms With Walls and Windows earlier this year via Ordinal.

Boy King Islands has launched a kickstarter to help them finish their new album. This would be their follow-up to the 2012 Plustapes release Sun Worship. Boy King Islands is Zachary Mastoon and Jason Hunt and have been performing together for more than a decade.
