Raiders of the Lost Art are back with their sophomore effort Wabi Sabi (due 10/21). The album’s first single is called "We Got Away (This Time)" and has an early Public Image Limited feel. The band recorded this album in two 45 minute burst without any prior planning. In their words "There is no material brought to sessions". It is raw but somehow works so well.

Kerosene Stars released their latest album back in August. The band blends alt-country with moments of noise and heavier elements.

J Fernandez will release his new EP, Memorize Now on October 14th via Atelier Ciseaux. The first single from the EP is called "Close Your Eyes" and is right on par with Fernandez’s lo-fi dream-pop sound.

Polyvinyl announced this week that Owen aka Mike Kinsella will be releasing a new album on December 2nd. The album called Other People’s Songs will consist of 8 covers of songs by bands including Smoking Popes, Depeche Mode, The Promise Ring, and ALL. Chicago Farmer aka Cody Diekhoff is releasing his album Beckenforth, IL on vinyl. The album is pure American and was originally released in early 2013.

Zaena and Jason Maek of Maek Productions are teaming up to release an ambitious "Visual Album" this month. Pandamonium is a collection 12 track, which can all be all be downloaded for free here, but the full project will be released on October 6th.

Anna Soltys is a talented singer/songwriter with a uniquely charming voice. Earlier this year she released a video that doesn’t only highlight her song "Lone Blues" but also the city’s skyline.

B Forrest is the work of Brendan Forest and a collection of talent musicians. He is releasing his debut album Back to Bodhi this month and one of the talented musicians helping him is Sam Trump as featured below on "Grown Child".

The Kuhls have released a video for their track "A Woman is Like a Man". The video plays with gender rolls and stereotypes in an amusing way. The Kuhls are primarily sisters Renee and Grace Kuhl, and this is their first single since 2013’s Holy Rollin’.

Ko is the work of Kristin Newborn who recently relocated to Chicago and has released her debut EP via Joyful Noise. She has been focused on music since the age of 18 and on this EP she has recruited the talents on Todd Heaton. The four track EP blend electro-pop and soulful songwriting.

The latest album from The Gnar Rangers is called #GetNastyAndRich and it oozes attitude throughout.
