Pet Symmetry Summer Tour

Pet Symmetry (Erik Czaja, Evan Weiss, Marcus Nuccio) recently announced that they will touring most of the summer in support of their recently released Pet Hounds album (Asian Man Records). Below is a new track from the album, "Gone Gone Gone (Further Gone)".

You can catch Pet Symmetry in Chicago on Aug. 4th at Double Door.

Advance Base

This week Owen Ashworth (aka Advanced Base) released the first single, "Trisha Please Come Home", from his forthcoming album Nephew in the Wild. The album will be released on Aug. 21st via Orindal Records/Tomlab, and is the follow-up to his 2012 debut as Advanced Base.

Advanced Base will be touring this July but does not have any local shows scheduled at this time.

Tinkerbelles 40 Walls Tour

Is it possible to play 40 shows in 10 days across 7 states? Well, the duo of Adam Mohundro (bass/vocals) and Christian Dawson (drums/vocals) formerly of Gypsyblood will be finding out later this month. Tinkerbelles, who released their thrashing 7" Fine Asses late last year via the local label Teepeespeek Recordings, will be taking on this challenge, with sponsorship from Lagunitas Brewing Co., beginning June 19th. Lever

Woongi (aka David Curtin) released a new EP today called Black Trumpets. The EP is filled with a mixture of dream and indie pop with layers of synths, electronics, traditional instrumentation, and solid vocals from Curtin.

Lil Durk released his debut album Remember My Name this week, and premiered the video for his track "What Your Life Like". The features production work from Young Chop, Boi-1da, Vinylz, Metro Boomin’ and more. The video is directed by Eif Rivera and focused life on the streets of Chicago.

Lardo

The trio of veteran rockers known as Lardo has released their debut album, Gunmetal Eyes, via the local label Alliterative Accord Recordings. Nick Meiers (bass, vocals), Brian Pennington (guitar), and Jim Duffy (drums) have been involved with several bands over the years including Cool Devices, Soft Jolts, and Phantom Works. The album is dark and grinding, and filled with fantastic riffs.

You can catch Lardo with many other bands at PRF BBQ on June 20th.

Owen and Into It. Over It.

Polyvinyl Records announced this week that they will be releasing a split 7" on Aug. 21st that will two new originals from Owen (Mike Kinsella) and Into It. Over It. (Evan Weiss), and two covers (each artist covers a song from the other’s back catalog). Below is Owen’s cover of Into It. Over It’s track "Anchor". You can preorder the 7" here.

Tsaik

Tsaik is the electronic music duo for Jacob McArthur and Joshua Ruffolo. The label debut, via Uk’s Lost Tribe Records, was released last week and is called Tea Enfoca. The downtempo hazy production is sure to entrance and entertain as they seamlessly blend the organic with the electronic. The duo are now focused on the full-length debut due later this year.
