North by North recently released a new single "Pistoletta" b/w "Dark Star". Both songs are gritty, blues influenced, garage rock tracks that feature fuzzed and powerful vocals.

Dick Prall and violinist Kristina Priceman have come together to create the dark, lush, chamber sounds of Dickie. The duo are releasing their self-titled debut album on August 7th.

Last week we brought the new single, "Is Everything Ok?" from Felix Da Housecat’s forthcoming album "Narrative of Thee Blast Illusion". Yesterday he release the creepy video for this laidback electro-pop track.
Sweet Cobra are preparing to release their first album since signing to Magic Bullet Records and the follow-up to 2010’s Mercy. The album is called Earth and will be released on July 17th. You can preorder the album here. Today the band released a video for the album’s first single "Future Ghosts".

Non Exotic released their self-titled debut EP earlier this year. The band plays a loud and aggressive style of alt rock that seems primed for bigger stages.

Kyle Landstra creates atmospheric explorations in sound. He most recent release was a 4-way split double cassette called Skyward Territories, and his contribution was the beautiful "upon a field of suspend orbs". He creates music to get lost in while you discover something new and epic. He is currently finishing up his latest project, unshared properties vol. i – iv, which will be released later this summer via Sacred Phrases.
He will be participating in a "A night of electronic music in a small theater space in Chicago" at 1917 N. Elston on June 21st with Metavari and Volutes.
Aerial Ballet Records and Already Dead Tapes have come together to release the debut LP from sewingneedle, Vote of No Confidence. The plays a straightforward brand of indie rock with a little beer and grit mixed in. Speaking of beer, the local brewery Spiteful released a Double IPA also called Vote of No Confidence to commemorate the albums release. Grab a can if you can find it!
Ace Reporter are launching the summer with a hometown show. It’s the one year anniversary of the release of their album Yearling and it has been a big year of acclaim for the band. Below is their Audiotree performance from back in October.
