Young Gliss Drops It at the M Room May 28

With his lyrical word play and ear-catching hooks, Young Gliss is helping usher in a new generation of Philly hip hop. The young emcee, whose musical bloodline runs deep (his cousins are ?uestlove and Lee Andrews of legendary Philly doo-wop group Lee Andrews & the Hearts) describes his style as a four-way cross between Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, T.I., and Wiz Khalifa. You can hear for yourself tonight at the M Room where Young Gliss will perform in support of his latest mixtape, Dealing With The Pressure 2, the long awaited follow-up to his debut mixtape that dropped last year. Featuring appearances from Philly emcees Dice Raw and Truck North from the Money Making Jam Boys crew, Dealing With The Pressure 2 has received much praise throughout the hip-hop blogging community, and is available for free download HERE. Also on the bill for tonight’s gig are Minneapolis-based alt-hip hop chief Witness, New York-based indie hip hop duo Divine Rhyme, and Boston-based rapper LTC. So drop what you’re doing and check it out. The M Room, 15 W. Girard Ave., $8, 7pm, 21+ – Dan Brightcliffe
