After wrapping up a month-long tour with Man Man this past Saturday at Union Transfer, Christopher Sean Powell, a.k.a. Pow Pow, will be taking you on an intergalactic tropical vacation tonight at Johnny Brenda’s with his solo electronic project Spaceship Aloha. Whether it’s providing the backbone to one of Philly’s most exciting and respected bands, to organizing some of the finest local musicians to perform in his groovy improvisational outfit Adventuredrum, to helping produce the album of rising acts like Grandchildren, to being part of an orchestra and providing music for experimental dance companies, Powell has been an impressive driving force in Philly’s art community.
