There’s something quite enjoyable about most lo-fi videos that mix creepy and cheesy elements, but some songs work better than others with them. The video for ‘Foul Play’ by that force of nature that is NYC’s Sharkmuffin is a fine example in this regard. The song alone, with its incendiary references to the psychedelic ’60s, would make pretty much any moving image look like a hallucination, and the video simply exacerbates that effect to a point of no return. It was premiered by She Shreds, a magazine dedicated to women guitarist and bassists – Sharkmuffin will play the mag’s party on June 5th at Shea Stadium.
