Nicklas Hughes celebrates the release of his sophomore album, Games (due out tomorrow via Black Rd Records), with a show this evening at Boot & Saddle. Hughes enlists an emotion-exposing, singer-songwriter accessibility. However, those somber tales are hardened by the influx of multidimensional synth/pop-rock-toned instrumentation. That on-the-move feeling places the songs in the present tense as the listener lives them in the moment, while still carrying an emotive depth. Joining in on the celebration are the continuously-searching, electro-folk quartet of Upperfields and the engaging serene vocal synth combination of Natalie Wimberg and Marc Neibauer, a.k.a.
