The psyched out, cosmic rock of Drone Ranger is alive and eclectic within single songs like, “The Dead Isle,” one of the two tracks available from their forthcoming debut LP. The newish band sounds polished beyond their years, creating some far-out, mind-bending jams. Also joining in on the ruckus is Le Yikes Surf Club, the amped surf punks who bring a refreshing, upbeat, West Coast sound to the endless winter of the east. The most recent release from the boys is their acoustic tinged, Yikes (Country Club), (Get it?) but these guys will most definitely be bringing their amps to this show. Extra points for having a song called “GHOST RIDE THE WHIP.” Both the bands are opening for Burger Record’s Cosmonauts, and Black Sea tonight at Kung Fu Necktie. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N.
